Edge introduces institutional-grade data-delivery for onchain markets for the first time with permissionless subscriber access to Solana shreds going live today.
April 16, 2026 — DoubleZero Foundation (doublezero.xyz) today announced the public beta launch of DoubleZero Edge, a new, permissionless platform purpose-built to deliver market-data primitives at institutional speed. Now available to firms requiring the fastest possible access to real-time onchain data, Edge brings institutional-grade data distribution infrastructure to crypto markets for the first time — with more than 350 data publishers and 50+ subscribers already live at launch.
The first product on DoubleZero Edge is a real-time feed of raw Solana block data (known as Solana shreds), but the platform is built to carry an expanding catalogue of additional data feeds including: CEX feeds, prediction market data, and order-by-order data from traditional financial exchanges.
Onchain market data today travels over public internet infrastructure, introducing unpredictable latency and operational complexity for trading firms. Firms that trade on blockchain data often have to link together a patchwork of API connections, CDN-delivered feeds, and RPC subscriptions, each with its own integration overhead and latency ceiling baked into public internet routing.
DoubleZero Edge addresses this infrastructure gap by introducing a dedicated transport layer for onchain market data, designed to deliver consistent, low-latency data distribution at scale. By distributing block data more consistently across a globally distributed network of independent contributors across 30+ metros, market participants gain access to high-performance data infrastructure that shaves 28 milliseconds off of shred delivery.* Now, with the introduction of DoubleZero Edge, onchain markets have a dedicated, and permissionless transport layer for onchain market data on par with traditional finance.
On average, Solana leader shreds published via DoubleZero Edge reach traders 6 milliseconds faster than with other shred distribution services. But for traders, what matters most isn’t the average, it’s performance during volatility. During periods of high block congestion or degraded network conditions, DoubleZero Edge becomes critical infrastructure. In these scenarios, it delivers shreds up to 20+ milliseconds faster in Europe, 80+ milliseconds faster in the U.S., and over 100 milliseconds faster in Asia.
The platform streams financial data directly to trading infrastructure over DoubleZero's physical fiber network using multicast – the same delivery model that has underpinned traditional financial exchanges for decades.
“Traditional finance has spent decades building infrastructure where speed and deterministic performance are a real competitive advantage,” said Andrew McConnell, CTO at Malbec Labs and Co-Founder of DoubleZero. “Onchain markets didn't get that foundation, which left even sophisticated trading firms working on uneven ground. Deterministic infrastructure removes a risk market makers have to price in, which leads to tighter spreads and better execution.”
Designed to align incentives for all participants, DoubleZero Edge introduces a new revenue stream for validators. Validators who publish shreds into the network are able to monetize data they already produce, creating a new revenue stream tied directly to network participation. Traders subscribe per epoch to data feeds through a permissionless, validator-aligned subscription model. DoubleZero creates a new market structure where more of the validator set can participate in the economic upside of Solana’s market data economy.
DoubleZero Edge already carries shreds from validators running every major Solana client. Jito, Harmonic Staking Facilities and Triton have also joined as launch partners and ecosystem participants contributing to DoubleZero Edge.
“DoubleZero Edge is the fastest shred source I've used. Across head-to-head benchmarks against multiple providers, DZ wins 76-85% of per-shred races with a median advantage of +350µs and +550µs at P75.” – Independent trader, budei7 on X.com
Subscribers can onboard in minutes by installing the DoubleZero CLI to connect, and subscribing to the feed using USDC. To learn more, visit fastshreds.com.
